Our commitment

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We are committed to protecting children, young people and adults at risk from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation in every part of our work.

Who this applies to

• Staff, trustees and volunteers
• Mentors and circle facilitators
• Partner organisations delivering with us

Safer recruitment

Everyone in a role of trust completes an application, provides references, is interviewed and holds an appropriate DBS check. Volunteers complete safeguarding induction before working with people, and refresh their training annually.

Recognising and responding to concerns

Anyone who has a concern about a child or adult at risk must report it the same day to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Concerns are recorded factually, stored securely and shared only with those who need to know. Where someone is at immediate risk, we call 999.

Confidentiality and its limits

What you share with us stays with us — with one exception. If we believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, we may need to share information with statutory services. Wherever it is safe to do so, we will tell you first and involve you in what happens next.
